Welcome to The Jackalope Grill

Said to be drawn to the scent of alcohol, the jackalope often appears only to those who have been enjoying fine wine, beer and spirits. The jackalope’s uncanny ability to mimic human singing is also known to lull many a traveler on the moonlit trail. Like this elusive – some say extinct – western creature resembling a jack rabbit with deer antlers, The Jackalope Grill offers the equally hard-to-find combination of imaginative Northwest haute cuisine in an unpretentious Central Oregon environment.

Great Wine Maker's Dinner

Mike Eyres said it best: "As a winemaker, I spend months creating complex, structured, intensely fruited wines, and I sincerely appreciated the thought and care Tim put into developing such an exceptional, well-crafted menu with great food/wine pairings.  It truly is an art to match wines with food well.  The result was one of the most memorable winemaker dinners I've attended -- a great group, impeccable service, and a truly enjoyable evening."

What an intrepid group of oenophiles! The wind howled and it snowed all morning and most of the afternoon. Luckily about two hours before we got started, the weather cleared. Nearly everyone showed up! Mike Eyres, Chehalem winemaker, along with all the other participants greatly enjoyed the food and wine pairings. The soup of pureed winter vegetables paired with the reserve Pinot Gris was memorable. The tomato-fennel coulis on the escolar plate perfectly reflected the suggestion of anise in the Three River Pinot Noir. It also showed well the adaptability of the Pinot fruit to complement a seafood dish. The earthy qualities Stoller Vineyard Pinot Noir showed very well with the venison osso buco. The unusual orange confit dessert was very well received. Unbelievable, perfect, and wow! were regularly heard throughout the evening. Everone is looking forwad to the Anam Cara event on the 9th of March. Now if the weather will just cooperate a wee bit better....
